THE BUSINESS
Cascadia Malts - local and family owned business producing high quality malt produced from our own family and locally grown grain. Cascadia Malts is a bridge and sales service point between the malt needs of our region’s amazing beer and spirit producers and our local and regional farms.
FAMILY
Family is what we are about! Corey and Melissa Freuen are parents to three beautiful and very active children, living in the Nine Mile Falls, Washington region. Support for Cascadia Malts has come from all generations, parents, brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts. It takes an army might be true but it actually takes a large family and lots of grit.
HERITAGE
The goal of the Cascadia Malts brand is to use grains including heritage varietals, grown and harvested on family owned fields. This land being harvested for Cascadia Malts has been in Corey Freuen’s mother’s family, the McKays, for 5 generations. It is located in the Grand Coulee Dam region of Washington State, family owned since the 1800’s and still farmed by the current fourth and fifth generations.
